The "Jya" (or ja) mask, often called Shinjya (true snake), is a terrifying Noh theatre mask representing a woman transformed into a jealous, demonic serpent. It features a wide-open mouth, no ears, and gold-painted eyes/teeth to signify a non-human, vengeful spirit, often used in plays like Dōjōji to symbolize extreme, obsessive jealousy.
