That was, by no means, Ango’s first time seeing his bare back. It wouldn’t be the last, hopefully, though Oda himself wouldn’t mind if it could be the last time he saw it in those circumstances. Anyway, he seemed… doubtful.
“Is everything okay?” He asked, more than clearly confused about the whole ordeal now. “Is it too bad and I didn’t notice, perhaps?”
“Oh, no. No.” Ango instantly replied, letting out a brief laugh that sounded somewhat off despite everything. Nervous? Embarrassed? Embarrassed. A bit shy, even, though that was more difficult to discern. At least for him, and at least while facing away. “It’s just–” Then there came a small sigh, which would have been a source of worries if it wasn’t for the words that came right after. “Probably not a good moment to say this, with a wound there, but. You’re gorgeous.”
That was, by no means, Ango’s first time saying that to him. It wouldn’t be the last, hopefully, but it brought a soft smile to his face nonetheless.
“You too.” Oda grimaced just barely when his partner actually moved and started cleaning said wound, but his words carried no less meaning because of that. In fact, it was very rare that affirmations like that didn’t carry their whole meaning; embellishing words wasn’t something he was a stranger to, not when he tried to write as much as his schedule let him… but sometimes, the best option was just saying things as they were.
And, speaking out loud, it was mostly his default unless he tried otherwise.
