This is Velcro. A nuthatch fledgling I found orphaned during covid. She was an absolute delight &so so smart. She had a successful soft release. This is her way of asking for a bath (she loved being misted). Nuthatch are always at odd angles!

A black and white rendering of some cedar buds. The branch was growing low, so I could take a picture of it from the top down and it kind of looks like flowers or fireworks. Each bud has a center of new growth, then older needles radiating out from the center. Reminds me of some of those old mid-century modern Sputnik design elements for some reason. It looked good in color, but making it monochrome forces the eye to focus on that radiating shape.
