This is hugely significant. Already in 2019, when the university first set up a working party to address the #climate and environment emergency, there was scepticism about the real value of #offsetting. This clearly a disastrous fallacy.
The only truly meaningful action is #carbon reduction.
💡A more promising approaches to channelling funds to the Global South could be to directly address scope 3 emissions in companies' supply chains & climate contributions approach.
