I sometimes wonder if the #NorCal / #Nevada ski regions are Accursed: Spirit ancestors of the #Miwok, #Ohlone and other native peoples who were killed or forced off this region by White *settlers* beginning in the 1800s should probably be allowed to “Comment.”
Long before Emeryville, CA, became a mall, industrial town, or the Bay Area HQ of Pixar Studios, this land was home to the Ohlone people. For thousands of years they lived, gathered shellfish like oysters, clams & mussels and honored life and death here.
