Mehserle resigned & pleaded not guilty. In a rare example of justice (however minor) for Black victims of police violence, on 7/8/2010, Mehserle was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, but not guilty of the murder charge & voluntary manslaughter. He sentence was only to 2 yrs.

The violence was captured on multiple official & private digital video as well as privately owned cell phones. Owners disseminated their footage to the media & to various websites where it went viral. On 1/30/2010, Alameda County prosecutors charged Mehserle w/ 2nd-degree murder.

Pirone threw three people against a wall & turned to the train, yelling for everyone who was fighting to exit the train & come to him. Everyone remained on the train, so Pirone walked into the train looking for people who looked as if they were involved in the fight

Almost 20 years ago, I watched #OscarGrant get shot IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD while in handcuffs for hopping a turnstile, skipping out on a $1.25 BART ticket, in 480p from at least 20 camera angles.
