## Position Overview
The **CDC Learning and Development Officer** will lead the professional development of the Cyber Defense Center (CDC) team members. The officer drives continuous learning, improves team competency scoring, shortens time-to-proficiency, and ensures readiness for future challenges. This role is part of the CDC management team and works closely with CDC leaders to align development initiatives with organizational goals.
## Key Impact
### Onboarding and Skill Baselines
* Design and implement structured onboarding programs to ensure team members have consistent baseline knowledge of tools and processes (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, FTK).
* Align onboarding plans with operational workflows to promote efficiency and consistency.
### Continuous Skill Development
* Track and manage team competency metrics, including skills matrices and time-to-proficiency.
* Identify training gaps and implement targeted programs for individuals and teams.
* Ensure sustained growth of team capabilities through ongoing learning initiatives.
### Career Pathing
* Develop structured career paths for roles including Analysts, Threat Hunters, Engineers, Forensic Analysts, and Data Scientists.
* Support professional growth, succession planning, and retention strategies.
### Training Program Management
* Lead training initiatives in collaboration with internal training teams, People & Culture partners, and external vendors.
* Manage certification renewals, coordinate internal training events, and monitor budgets and ROI of training activities.
