After the confidence boost that was those likes on my DTIYS entry, I have decided to try the method I used to render that piece with this older one.
Colors had to be redone as I forgot the original palette 🥀

A night of little art pieces of varying styles - from pseudo Chinoiserie and botanical experiments to spooky abstract real landscapes and “shitty copper” inspired JUST abstract - no one can tell me I’m not versatile
It was a busy hyper focus kinda night…

First attempt at Chinoiserie. Colour contrast a bit off. A bit stilted - but a nice start. Will be fun to improve and try and incorporate the ethos into my other practise a bit… simplification always good in my “tendency to overdo things” style
Quick little tiny scruffy study on a paler background - deffo need to bump up colours
Hmmm. Ok then… needs work. But it’s fun :) and these brushes are great!

Yes the colors are washed out but I find it's easier this way to hide errors.

Finished piece!
It is finished.
Two. Hours. Lol.
Now I will rest and then do another rendering study.
Take away: the background not being blank (around the orbs) interfered with my self-blending brush.

I am kinda thinking of how to potray burd furries. Wing like fingers and arms, forgo the wings, back wings attatched, or arms with wing line against.
Thinking might opt to having them with normal arms andd unfurling their feathers if they need to use their wings...
