Hand written poem that reads (in English); ‘You Told Me You Loved Me…’ I burned for you, through all this time, Over all this distance, Between all the lines of all our words exchanged, The fixed and fleeting photographs, The late night chats, memes, laughs, peps n’ pick-me-ups, I held you so close, from so far away, And it always made me feel so good, To know I’d made you smile, Help get you through the new ‘whatever’, Feel better, stronger, bigger, lighter, You said, “You say things that keep my heart warm”, And, “No words can express how you make me feel cared for and loved (and also worthy of love).” Did I misunderstand, did you not mean mine? You told me you loved me, And I, burned for you, with all my passion and brightness, Though how I wish it now to be dull, For it and I to be extinguished, Quench the intensity unabated, of this anguished Limbo, But a fire knows no other agency or aspiration, And so I burned for you, … and so, I still do.
