Ashley N.Y. Sheesley Child of the Dragon YA contemporary fantasy (March 10,2026) Weird butterflies filled my stomach when I thought about going with him, and I - oh no. Was this a crush? Is this what alloromantics feel all the time? I'm doomed. -Kat (Child of the Dragon) ASHLEY NY SHEESLEY Rep: from the top, going clockwise: asexual, bisexual, asexual and demiromatic, gay. Child of the Dragon features a queer central cast. Kat is one of the POV characters and is openly demiromantic and asexual. She's at a point where it's just a part of who she is, and she doesn't really think about it much. Aaron is another POV character and he's alloace, but isn't quite ready to claim that identity yet. Being aroace spec myself, my characters kinda end up being aspec whether or not I planned for it. Kat's and Aaron's POVs had already been written when I found out I was aroace, so it was fun going back to them with that knowledge and seeing how their relationship already had aspec themes. It was important to me that Kat identify by name as demiromantic/ace because I didn't know those words until I was in college.
