A grouping of light purple gilled fungi growing out of the side of a haybale but wait, what's that odd baby upside down replica that appears to be resting precariously on the cap of a larger sibling? Nope, same mushroom but with a separate formation due most likely due to environmental contamination in this case but can be due to other environmental stresses.
I love a good #Rosecomb mutation, even if it is typically an indicator of environmental #contamination.
In this case I have little doubt about potential Petroleum, Oils & Lubricant (POL) contamination as the fungus was growing on roadside haybales where cars frequently park. #FungiFriends #Fungi
