Opprettelsen av aksjeselskapet Saudafaldene i 1913 la grunnlaget for industrieventyret i bondesamfunnet Sauda. Aksjeselskapets planer om å temme naturkreftene i vannfallene rundt Sauda lokket det amerikanske selskapet Union Carbide til å etablere Sauda Smelteverk i 1915. I dag drives verket av Eramet og er blant de største produsentene av raffinert ferromangan i Europa. Befolkningen er tredoblet. Våre medlemmer har vært en viktig del av industrieventyret i Sauda.
