The upshot is I need to self-administer subcutaneous infusions of immunoglobulin G (IgG), derived from plasma donations every 3 weeks to provide my body antibodies to hopefully prevent serious infections taking hold like the pneumonia (leading to sepsis) which got me in January. #scig

this is just a trial, and they're going to keep trying it on their other patients, and if it works, the infusion company might keep using this new system. And I hope that happens, because it was a little easier on me! 😄

The MD LOST HIS LICENSE after this BS study.

You're so right about the temps! When I first started, I would get SO COLD even from room temp infusion. It's better now and I don't get as exhausted after infusion anymore, but yeah, I dress warm on infusion day

I depend on this! It's an 'immune globulin solution for subcutaneous infusion for the treatment of primary humoral immunodeficiency (PI). I have a form of PI/PIDD aka as primary immunodeficiency disorder. What I have is called CVID, aka common variable immunodeficiency.

#SCIG caused major flare ups of #MCAS and #PeriodicParalysis but substantially reduced my pain levels.

The flare ups are subsiding, which is great!

But the pain… is coming back. It’s not as bad as it was but it’s definitely increasing. 👎. #LongCovid #MECFS

For those of you following my #SCIG journey — I am very displeased to report that it is over.

Woke up yesterday (two days post infusion #3) with my throat swollen and very itchy. #MCAS had been slightly worse since infusion 1 but not this bad. Today my throat is ok but the itching continues.
