A Stewart black spider wet fly. Size 14 hook, brown UTC 70 denier, starling feather. The trick is to twist the fragile starling feather around the tying thread and then wrap. This reinforces the feather. The scruffier the better.

Today’s #lunchties if you see a pattern, yes I love wet flies. Tenkara for upstream pinpoint drifts and manipulation; and trout Spey for downstream swinging. The same flies work well for both applications.
