Stifel upgrades Spirax to “hold,” lifts target price to 6,450p on balanced risks Investing.com -- Stifel has upgraded its recommendation for Spirax Group (LON:SPX) to “hold” from “sell” and raised the price target from 5,750p to 6,450p, citing a more balanced risk profile and improved earnings momentum following the company’s first-half results, in a note dated Wednesday. The upgrade comes despite largely unchanged financial forecasts, as earnings per share estimates for 2025 and 2026 have been revised upward by 2.5% and 0.5%, respectively, due to lower expected finance costs rather than operational changes. The shift in stance follows a sharp positive market reaction to interim results that were broadly in line with expectations and full-year guidance that remained unchanged. Stifel said the strong share price performance suggests prior market expectations had fallen too far, with some forecasts sitting well below both the company’s outlook and Stifel’s estimates. The 2025 revenue forecast has been trimmed by 0.2% to £1.68 billion, while the adjusted operating profit forecast is now £337.4 million, up slightly from earlier projections. Key drivers for the improved tone included signs of stabilisation in important markets such as biopharma and semiconductors, a slower rate of decline in capital projects in China and Korea, and double-digit growth in maintenance, repair and operations sales in those regions. Watson-Marlow’s biopharma orders exceeded sales for the first time since the pandemic, and lower-than-expected capital expenditure in the first half improved deleveraging prospects. However, Stifel noted that sales and profits were still slightly down year-on-year in the first half, with reported profit falling nearly 30% after £52 million in charges and adjustments. Full-year performance remains heavily weighted to the second half, with 53% of profit expected in that period. Industrial production growth forecasts for the second half have also been cut from 2.1% to 1.7% excluding China, signalling a continued challenging backdrop for the core steam business, which accounts for about 55% of profit. Stifel maintained that Spirax’s valuation remains full when compared with peers such as Rotork, Weir and IMI, even when giving credit for delivering near- and mid-term targets. While the long-term decarbonisation strategy remains attractive, the report emphasised that the company itself sees this as a decades-long opportunity rather than an immediate growth driver.

Stifel downgrades Crocs on weakening revenue visibility, trims price target Investing.com -- Stifel cut its rating on Crocs (NASDAQ:CROX) to Hold from Buy, saying murky revenue trends and uncertainty around topline growth through 2026 weaken the investment case despite strong margins and cash flow. The brokerage slashed its price target to $85 from $127, citing concerns about weak consumer demand in the U.S., conservative retailer orders, and a pullback in promotions that could weigh on volumes well into next year. While these moves align with brand discipline, Stifel said they point to a reset in sales expectations. Crocs reported better-than-expected second-quarter results, with revenue up 3.4% and adjusted EPS of $4.23 topping estimates. Margins also improved, but Stifel said those positives aren’t enough to offset the broader uncertainty in growth outlook. The firm said the company remains profitable, with over 20% adjusted EBIT margins and solid free cash flow supporting downside protection. However, without clearer signs of a return to sustained revenue growth—especially in North America and from the HEYDUDE brand, valuation may remain under pressure. Stifel’s revised $85 target is based on 6 times estimated 2026 EBITDA, a notable discount to peers due to the lack of topline visibility. With CROX making headlines, savvy investors are asking: Is it truly valued fairly? In a market full of overpriced darlings, identifying true value can be challenging. Baxter: Stifel downgrades to ’Hold’, cuts PT on disappointing Q2 results Investing.com-- Analysts at Stifel downgraded Baxter International Inc (NYSE:BAX) to “Hold” and cut its price target, citing ongoing operational challenges and a lack of near-term catalysts for consistent growth. Stifel lowered PT to $25 from $36, and downgraded rating from "Buy". Stifel analysts said that while Baxter has made positive strides through portfolio transformation efforts and efficiency measures, its disappointing second-quarter results and reduced full-year guidance have clouded its 2026 outlook. Stifel emphasized that new CEO Andrew Hider, set to assume leadership in September, faces a range of challenges, including resolving issues with the NOVUM large volume pump, hospital IV solution conservation, and weaker-than-expected patient admissions. These factors pressured the company’s key Infusion Therapies & Technologies unit in the second quarter, analysts said. “We find ourselves believing that BAX is in an extended transition period, where shares could be range-bound despite the inexpensive current valuation optics,” analysts wrote. Baxter reported second-quarter revenue of $2.81 billion, narrowly missing estimates, as gross and operating margins also came in below consensus. EPS of $0.59 missed forecasts, even with a lower tax rate benefit. Stifel said it awaits clearer signs of strategic execution and a path to consistent 4%-5% sales growth under Hider’s leadership. With BAX making headlines, savvy investors are asking: Is it truly valued fairly? In a market full of overpriced darlings, identifying true value can be challenging. InvestingPro's advanced AI algorithms have analyzed BAX alongside thousands of other stocks to uncover hidden gems. HubSpot: Stifel cuts target price, maintains Buy ahead of Q2 earnings Investing.com-- Stifel analysts cut their target price on HubSpot Inc (NYSE:HUBS), but maintained their Buy rating on the software developer as it prepares to report its second-quarter earnings in the coming weeks. Stifel cut HUBS’ target price to $700 from $750, and maintained its Buy rating on the stock. The brokerage said that talks with HUBS partners showed greater-than-expected adoption of the company’s enterprise software services in the second quarter. Stifel said that focus during the Q2 earnings will be squarely on the adoption of HUBS’ artificial intelligence agent service, especially the potential impact AI will have on seat counts. But real-time feedback on AI agents appeared mixed, especially given that only a customer agent service was currently available. Stifel said HUBS’ custom acquisition remained a bright spot for the company, despite a minor deceleration in total customer count growth and a pullback from net-add figures seen between Q4 2023 and Q2 2024. “Plenty of tailwinds remain for customer acquisition, such as a TAM that remains large, growing, and under-penetrated, products outside of Marketing Hub increasingly becoming a front door to the platform, and the potential for AI advancements to accelerate mind share and adoption,” Stifel analysts wrote in a note. Sentiment around HUBS’ average subscription revenue per customer is expected to improve, while net revenue retention is expected to remain steady. HUBS and other enterprise software companies are expected to have benefited from increasing AI adoption in the corporate sector, with focus specifically on the use of AI agents– AI bots which are able to operate somewhat autonomously in carrying out specialized tasks.

Stifel bullish on Monster Beverage on U.S. momentum and overseas growth Investing.com -- Stifel resumed coverage of Monster Beverage (NASDAQ:MNST) with a Buy rating and $72 price target, given the increased sales in the U.S. and strong international growth as key drivers for the energy drink maker. The firm expects Monster’s revenue to grow 5.5% in 2025, led by high-single-digit gains overseas and a rebound in the U.S. market helped by product innovation and steady distribution. Sales velocity, particularly in convenience stores, has picked up in recent weeks, which analysts said should support further gains this year. “We believe the improved velocities support an acceleration in dollar sales growth through 2025 and bodes well for distribution levels going forward,” the analysts wrote, adding that Monster’s recent innovations have contributed meaningfully to overall category growth. “We view this positively for the brands’ ability to compete against functional brands going forward.” International markets now make up about 40% of Monster’s revenue and are outpacing domestic growth, with the firm citing market share gains in key regions. Stifel sees overseas expansion as Monster’s most important long-term opportunity, noting the company’s global share outside the U.S. still lags its domestic position. The firm’s $72 price target is based on a 26-times EV/EBITDA multiple using 2026 estimates, which Stifel said is justified by the company’s growth and margin profile. Monster shares are up around 6% so far this year, underperforming the broader consumer staples sector. Stifel also resumed coverage of Celsius Holdings (NASDAQ:CELH) with a Buy rating, citing improving brand momentum and expected benefits from its recent Alani Nu acquisition. Jack in the Box: Stifel upgrades to ’Buy’, raises PT on new CEO’s growth plan Investing.com-- Stifel analysts have upgraded their rating on Jack In The Box Inc (NASDAQ:JACK) to "Buy" from "Hold" and raised their price target, citing the appointment of new CEO Lance Tucker as a positive step. Stifel raised its PT on the stock to $35 from $32, citing the company’s efforts to strengthen its financial position and focus on a more streamlined strategy, with plans to reduce debt by over $300 million in the next 12-18 months. Key initiatives include selling some of the company’s restaurant real estate, eliminating its quarterly dividend, and divesting Del Taco, analysts noted. These moves, alongside the closure of 150-200 underperforming units, should help the company improve its competitive positioning and free up capital for more profitable investments, according to Stifel. Analysts estimated that the reduction in debt and financial leverage will lead to a lower risk profile, with the company’s leverage potentially falling to below 5x by fiscal year 2026. Despite recent declines in same-store sales, Stifel sees upside potential if Jack In The Box can improve its comparable sales and execute its plans effectively. "We believe the equity value will improve as debt is repaid. Additionally, the valuation should benefit from the company owning a single, highly franchised brand with a focus on growing comp sales," analysts added.
