The Shaskosvaibe society was once capable of manufacturing great organic constructs. However, due to the polarisation of their people and a large political split in the government, much of that technology was lost, corrupted or destroyed. What has remained, though, is still enough to mark them as a very powerful local force. One of the most recent Shaskosvaibe inventions is the secondary body, developed for easier interaction with the upright numen that began to move into The City after its surfacing. The secondary body grants its pilot an unprecedented level of strength, protection and mobility. This creation, being fully organic, has to draw nutrition from the pilot to survive. The amount of food required to keep such a structure running puts great levels of stress on the tiny Shaskosvaibe body, often leading to extreme weight gain and dependency, or even burst stomachs.
The Shaskosvaibe are a particular lineage of radicaliforma, meaning their highly altered numan genes prevent them from being able to breed with regular anthroforma. Their bodies were purposely engineered to live in tight, subterranean tunnels and survive off waste products. Their vision is adapted to dark environments, though is unable to focus at distance. Shaskosvaibe skin emits a slimy, sticky mucus layer which allows them to maintain strong grip on walls and ceilings. They weigh about 20 kilograms on average and can grow to a maximum of 1 meter in length. Shaskosvaibe grubs rare simultaneous hermaphrodites, with a reproduction process similar to that of slugs. Despite their grub-like appearance, Shaskosvaibe are still numan mammals, grow hair and have an internal bone structure, though much reduced in their case
The Shaskosvaibe are the true natives of The City. After a catastrophic political split, their subterranean society was forced to surface, establishing trade relations with local anthroforma. Shaskosvaibe leadership is now losing favour rapidly, as The City sinks back into the caverns below. #stifle
