Hebrew Character clinging to garden fence in this afternoon's breeze, wings blown partially open.
Common sense said 'Don't be silly' as I put the trap out last night. Still, 3 HCs braved the chill. Best/worst of all, I fluffed potting what I'm 99% sure was a Shoulder Stripe by the porch light just after dark. Which is incentive enough to ignore common sense tonight as well. 😏

Severe moth withdrawal setting in here after 5 days without a trap, symptoms include:
1. Repeated checking of phone weather apps.
2. Wandering outside and gazing skyward.
3. General irritability.
4. Considering leaf mines 😬
5. Ridiculous urge to trap tonight in cold and wet conditions. #TeamMoth 😪

Grey Shoulder-knot on wood
3 Early Greys on wood
Frost on the car but some beautiful and hardy moths braved the weather in Marbury: 6/15. Highlight again was this Oak Beauty. Also lots of grey with 3 Early Greys and a Grey Shoulder-knot. I used to get the 2 mixed up embarrassingly! My attention to detail has needed some working on! #teammoth
It’s a day for ‘washing the pots’ and looking ahead to better times…

Just this one Small Quaker braved the temperature yesterday evening #teammoth
Given rain in the early part of the night followed by clear skies and temperatures down to 1.2C I wasn't surprised at the very quiet trap for @gardenmothscheme.bsky.social VC61 last night.
Hebrew Character (2), Common Quaker and mustn't grumble at a NFY Pale Pinion #TeamMoth
My first ever Small Brindled Beauty was around the door light. Unfortunately the 🕷's had got to it first. Letheringham, Suffolk. #Teammoth
