It is all about cost competitiveness, not bureaucracy:
#mercantilists, old and new, are suspicious of disruptive #technology; they like to trade in #physical goods. In other words, #mercantilist thinking goes hand in hand with #technophobia.

If someone is so vulnerable that an AI could talk them into suicide, they need to be under psychiatric observation in a hospital. They are experiencing a severe mental health episode, otherwise they wouldn't consider ChatGPT a valid reason to die.

I have been under the effects of all of these at the same time during hundreds of interactions with ChatGPT. I am mentally ill, to boot.

Not once have I made the leap from ChatGPT's flattery to "the AI is now sentient and that makes me chosen" 🙄

ChatGPT fear reminds me of the Wikipedia fear/skepticism when people started using that resource. The thought was "anybody can edit it, who knows if it's accurate". Now it is probably one of the most valuable information repositories in human history.
