A ★★★ review of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025) Where Dead Reckoning stumbled, Final Reckoning faceplants. McQuarrie doubles down on every bad instinct he had in the first: exposition dumps stacked on top of exposition dumps, endless callbacks, and a villain so cartoonish he makes Javier Bardem's Silva look like Shakespeare. Gabriel is all smarm and no menace—a Bond knockoff without the charm. Maybe I'm extra tuned into the AI angle here because of the shitstorm that went down in my previous review's comments section. I was accused of using AI to write my review for Point Break, and even worse, of loading another Letterboxd user's reviews to make
