Trigger Warning: heavy content I heard you scream over your daughter who had just died in a shooting. I listened to you cry the night your ex raped you. I taught you CPR the night your brother hanged himself. I still hear your screams before I sleep. You taught me what agonal. breathing sounds like. I told a stranger you needed CPR after your motorcycle accident. You didn't make it, and I feel guilty because I didn't want to give those instructions. You were the first person I listened to get hurt while I was on the phone with you. Your younger brother broke your legs with a bat that night. You called me from a bridge and didn't know where you were at. You wanted to jump. I talked you down and sent you help and you lived. I hope you live a long time. I told you how to do CPR on your mom. She didn't make it.
I wrote these back in 2019, only a handful of calls I took that month. Please read these carefully, the image may trigger some audiences. I think what I'm most sad about is that these things no longer affect me as badly.
