This reminded me of Ultima IV, V, VI. You can't enter the Shrine of the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom without permission from the two guardian statues.

I've been messing around with Ultima IV recreated, looking for a way to add a more period accurate soundtrack to it, so I found out they have tools for music mods, and made an Apple II music mod and a PC98 mod
