**The Unshaken Trees**
We are not fleeting flowers, easily plucked by time,
Nor are we weak vines, desperately grasping.
We are the oak and maple, roots deeply entrenched—
Two trees in fertile soil, standing unbroken through droughts and floods.
Storms have come and passed, winds have scarred our bark,
But side by side we stand, no frenzy can tear us apart.
Branches may bend but don’t break,
And what shatters, we reconnect; true light never dims.
When autumn strips our leaves, and the world feels cold,
We do not wither in despair—we trust, breathe, and regenerate.
Roots run deeper than frost, and time is a fleeting visitor.
Some costs remain unspoken, etched in the unseen depths.
Even if the world collapses, we reunite in the ruins—
For some things never stand alone: the oak and the maple, vast and free.
Let years flow like a stream, while others fade like morning dew.
We are guardians of a dream, nourished by trust and time.
When the last wind ceases and silence envelops the sun,
Someone will ask what makes the earth stand and find our roots have long been one.
The unshaken tree
