#whywestay Def not for the money-I could make twice my salary in clinical practice. They are shrinking USDAs ability to respond to foreign animal diseases as we continue to battle HPAI and have ASF and screwworm knocking on our door. I stay because I know how important it is to keep those out

1 post is not enough & today marks 100 days of the Golden Age of Misery for the Country. #WhyWeStay. I have seen firsthand what our programs mean to ppl. From the first time home buyer to the first kid to go to college to a community garden or just a decent roof over someone’s head. HUD does that. ✊

A lot of feds had tough jobs to begin with and this current situation is beyond merely “challenging.” I couldn’t survive it, and I was fortunate to be able to leave on (sort of) my own terms. People who’ve stayed and are strong enough to hold the line have my gratitude.

I simply can’t read the #WhyWeStay posts because I keep getting 🥺.
I wanted to stay. My job wasn’t perfect but my agency’s mission was just in the big picture and helpful to individuals. No better purpose. With the cuts that lie ahead with Trump’s plans, the Americans we helped are abandoned.

I stay bc I took this job to serve the American people not the whims of any administration. I stay bc P2025 is clear in wanting to drive us out & replace us with ideologues & I will not make that easy. We work to improve lives not harm them & part of that means staying.

A woman working remotely for the FDA while getting a needed blood transfusion in the fucking hospital! Why? Because she believed in her job and the mission. She is now RIFed.
Her story summary. Worked for malarkey for many years as his comms person. She is now RIFed and saddened/ appalled at what Malarkey has become and allowed to happen to the FDA.
This right here is #WhyWeStay. I’m not just fighting for her, I’m fighting for you. I also hope I’m giving you hope and some tools to fight on your own as well.

For my #WhyWeStay story, I must start with my arrival at NIH. It felt like coming home. Like when you first find that happy place you keep returning to for your vacations. I have loved working with staff across NIH in different capacities.
