Some springs and summers on California's north coast can yield riots of wildflowers, but usually only after a wet winter and warmer May and June. If a natural spring or ocean fogs lend aid, headlands meadows can look this pretty into early July.

Your #TuesdayTreat are these fresh shots of the wild 'Redwood Lily', a threatened species in northern coastal #California and #Mendocino County. Diminutive and gorgeous, these bloom for about a week or two once a year. I detect no scent but love every one I've found.

It's Clintonia season again here on northern California's redwood coast.

The bloom cycle is brief, about two weeks, then the blue seed pods form. Then it's a long wait til the next late spring.
