The eyes behold what they seek Healer, mender… rid the bleak They want me to just agree This is all I’m meant to be The mouth speaks their desire Comfort, care… feed the fire They want me to set them free This is all I’m meant to be They crave not the real me, no This is all I’ll ever be They love not the real me, oh Only the idea of me
The heart beats their woeful tune Broken, upset… I’m to croon They want me to make them new This is all I’m meant to do The voice cracks in the uncouth Lies, fake… I’m to accept truth They want me to live askew This is all I’m meant to do They crave not the real me, no This is all I’ll ever be They love not the real me, oh Only the idea of me
My mind can’t stand it longer Fed-up, done… I am stronger I want to be beyond strife I want to be me in life My heart can’t handle the hurt Tired, spent… I will assert I want to be the sharp knife I want to be me in life I must force them to come see Beyond the idea of me
