My problem with this is if it would actually get used. What I know from pedestrian activity is, pedestrians will find the easiest, quickest and most convenient way to walk. I would expect this to be especially true of teenagers.

So if we built a pedestrian bridge, would it get used, or would […]

Andrew Barr's office advised me a week ago that Tara Cheyne's office is looking into the situation at Botanical Turner. I haven't heard anything yet, so I have sent a follow up email to her office this morning.

The issue is ongoing at the site.

An email from TCCS to Matthew Cullis regarding report of safety concern. It reads the following: Hello Matthew, Thank you for taking the time to submit a Fix My Street request and letting us know about an issue important to you and your local area. I am pleased to advise you that your request relating to Fix My Street > Cycle & footpaths > Fencing & bollards > Report safety concern - 131-141 CITY WALK, CITY ACT 2601 has been resolved. The resolution applied to this issue was: Bollard cover replaced. Your request has been closed through Fix My Street.

The email then talks about how you can find information about scheduled works.

It is no wonder why there is such distrust with Fix My Street in Canberra.

I had raised a safety concern regarding the bollards on City Walk at Garema Place, as construction workers have been leaving the bollards out with no cover, leaving a big […]

I noticed some good street changes while walking around a residential area in Aarhus, Denmark.

These changes improved pedestrian safety, added greenery, and improved sanitation + bike parking. #BetterStreets

Today I am an example of why it is important that attention is brought to our walking environments. I'm at TCH tonight, waiting for xray of my left arm. Happened at work. Two paths not quite meeting level.

"Nobody" commented: The pampered people of the inner north complain about nearly everything. There is a large trench dug right next to that footpath, so the area needs to be closed to the public while that part of the construction is undertaken. It would be helpful if Living Streets Canberra could explain how “protecting the walkway by using shipping containers to make a tunnel” would be any use in this situation. There is no overhead construction taking place at the moment, so no overhead protection is required, the area is closed so they can safely excavate and then re-fill that trench. The government should defund the Conservation Council for wasting time and money. A few months ago they tried to prevent a new mobile tower in Ainslie, last month they were whinging about ActewAGL supporting the local sporting community, and now they are whining about the need for pedestrians to cross the road for a short time. Why doesn't the Conservation Council and Living Streets Canberra also complain about the footpaths and cycleways closed for several years while construction of light-rail is undertaken?
