And there's the risk factor to consider, as #WA04 had an R-R general (so did #CA20).
I think there will be arguments to repeal the jungle primary system in those states, but those would have to require a ballot initiative to go back to the way it was with primaries, or with another primary reform.

Mr. Fong, The DOJ should release the FBl's compilation of Trump mentions in the Epstein files. Clearly this would exonerate him. The AP projects that Vince Fong will win the #CA20 special election runoff. He defeats fellow Republican Mike Boudreaux 60–40%. Most importantly, Mike Johnson finally gets an insurance vote in the House.
Then it will get even tighter after the April 30 special election in #NY26, which is very likely to elect a Democrat. Republicans won't get a new member until the May 21 election in #CA20.
The AP is projecting that the two November candidates in #CA20 (McCarthy's old seat) will be Vince Fong (R) and Mike Boudreaux (R). Fong is at 41% right now; he needs a majority in the special election next week to avoid a May runoff.
With 44% of the vote reporting in #CA20, Kevin McCarthy's chosen successor Vince Fong (R) leads with 37%, while Marisa Wood (D) and Mike Boudreaux (R) are battling for 2nd with 24% each.
