Here’s when Highway 101 carpool lane hours are changing — San Francisco Chronicle Faced with mounting pressure from irate drivers, Bay Area transportation officials said Wednesday that they will reduce the carpool lane hours on Highway 101 in the North Bay.

Caltrans and politicians claimed that the 101 carpool lanes would free up space in the general traffic lanes. It didn’t happen b/c of induced demand.
