This basal euchelicerate has more to say than you may think. First believed to be an eurypterid, new specimens allowed at the end of the XX° century to reconsider it as a potential distant relative of horseshoe crabs. Some details on its flanks indicate that it could also rolled itself like woodlouses and modern horseshoe crabs. Size : around 10cm of body length Time period : Early Devonian Paleoart speculativometer : Few missing details The animal drawn looks a bit like a mix of an eurypterid & a horseshoe crab, with a wide head-part and long londy of 10 segments, a bit like a woodlouse

This german arachnid is one of the few trigonotarbids known during the Permian. Compared to other Aphantomartus species, this one is poorly known with only one specimen. Size : a bit more than 4/5cm of main body length Time period : Early Permian Paleoart speculativometer : Mostly based on another taxon The animal drawn look like heavy spider-like animal, with segmented abdomen and numerous tuberculation on its skin

This super spiny critter, named in 2024, is currently an enigma. Its morphology doesn’t align with the other arachnid orders, at best it’s supposed to be related to spiders, vinegarroons and trigonotarbids. Size : 1,5cm of body length Time period : Late Carboniferous Paleoart speculativometer : Some missing parts The animal drawn looks a bit like a spider but with numerous spines on its legs, a segmented posterior body and a subtriangular front carapace

This large flower crab spider, found across Eurasia and North America. is a common sight upon flowers. It' s commonly known for its ability to change color from white to yellow. helping it to blend on plants to embush preys. Size : around 8 mm in length Time period : holocene (present day) Living status : Least concern/near threatened The specimen draw is a large white crab flower spider with some red lines, with its legs widely opened.

A male woodlouse spider (Dysdera crocata, extant species) The spider is mainly red and yellow (very warmish colors) and have long robust fangs to prey on woodlouse

Euproops, a horseshoecrab from the Carboniferous with a well segmented opisthosoma and more spines than our modern species, it also lived in freshwater

A male ornate cow tick (Dermacentor reticulatus, extant species), easily recognisable by the yellow-red-black pattern on its back and with the bumps at the end of the body

Aphantomartus idelficus, a trigonotarbid (extinct arachnid order) from the permian. Like all trigonotarbids, its opisthosoma is sub-segmented in 3 from left to right (a bit like a trilobite). Since it's maybe the first paleoart of this species and due to the ""not really well"" preserved main specimen of this species, certain parts of its anatomy is based upon the other species of Aphantomartus (like for the morphology of the legs and details of the carapace). The black color with yellow dots of the body is speculative.

I'm really happy with what I did for Aphantomartus ifeldicus, it was my very first trigonotarbid drawing and also the first paleoart of this species as I'm aware of, more representation for obscure taxa !✊
