Eurypteroar is a giant sea scorpion kaiju that lives within the waters around the Marshall Islands , protecting its territory and terraforming the land. Scores of nuclear weapon tests were conducted throughout the Marshall Islands in the aftermath of World War II and throughout the Cold War. The Operation Hardtack I Cactus test had blown an enormous hole in the surface of Runit Island, and the United States constructed an enormous concrete dome over the crater to bury the nuclear material. An underground chamber was shaken by the bomb's blast, which contained a chamber housing an ancient sea scorpion, kept alive for millions of years within the great amniotic fluid. It remained hidden from the U.S. military as they sealed away the nuclear litter, and the kaiju fed on the material within its shadowy basin. As the crater was not sealed, nuclear material began to escape out into the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding environment over the years. Structural integrity continued to fail until the kaiju escaped from it completely in 2020. The United States Navy engaged it in combat but was ultimately forced to retreat from the islands completely.
