Entire organism, ventral side, under darkfield microscopy at 100x magnification. Its antennulae are sadly tucked under its body, so they're not visible.
Zoom into the pereiopods (swimming legs) in brightfield at 250x magnification. The oil droplets are visible as well
Detailed view of the furca. I don't know what I did with the microscope here because the image looks kinda 3D and the exoskeleton has a bluish hue to it.
Detailed view of one antennula (11-segmented), brightfield, 250x
For the final day of #crustmas I have another #copepod: Bryocyclops sp.
I found this one in some standing water in one of my houseplants. Originally from (sub-)tropical habitats in the Americas, Africa, and Asia, this individual the first record of the genus in Europe (at least on iNat and gbif).
