The end of #Detectorists season 3 is perfect. Subtle, understated, no noise; in keeping with the entire show. Why on earth MC felt the need for the 2022 special will always be a mystery to me. It took the story nowhere and cheated us out of the ending we wanted. I always pretend it doesn’t exist 🤷♀️

Working my way through BBC’s #Detectorists again, after finishing #SmallProphets. I love the way Mackenzie Crook writes about friendships and his valuing of people who might be dismissed as odd. He also has a knack of making the ordinary quite magical. So brilliant.

Another wonderful story from MacKenzie Crook with some beautifully observed characters and full of his humanity. I missed that about the #Detectorists so good to have it back.
