The Plotting Room at Fort Stevens, housed within Battery Clark, was a crucial part of the Fort’s defense system, particularly during World War II. The room contained a large map used for plotting gunnery solutions.

The #bombardment of #FortStevens, Oregon occurred. The Imperial Japanese submarine I-25 fired on Fort Stevens, which defended the Columbia River. A total of seventeen explosive shells were fired, most landing in a nearby swamp. The only real damage was some telephone cables.
