Its upper half is mostly a dark brown or black with the feathers looking like they are overlaying each other. The lower body is brown with some white spots throughout. The tail is brown with a reddish color at the end. This tom has a lengthy beard which drops straight down from its breast and is close to the ground. The long legs are pink.
