I finished spinning the second half of Norfolk Horn, Sample 93, at 25wpi for the singles and chain plied them to get a 3 ply, DK weight, 11 wpi yarn, 70 yards to 1.5 ounces.

320 grams of 3-4 ply handspun Polwarth. A bit uneven in some places but it's lovely and soft. We're very lucky in Aotearoa New Zealand to have access to beautiful fleece. This came from a small farm in North Auckland. It's getting dyed tomorrow. Watch this space.

Yesterday, I started spinning the first half of the Norfolk Horn wool, Sample 93, at 20 wpi. Tonight I finished spinning the singles and plied them to get a 2 ply, DK weight, 11 wpi yarn, 69 yards to 1.5 ounces.

Portland wool spun into sport weight, 3 ply yarn, chain plied, wound into skein laying on a table.
I finished spinning the second half of the Portland wool, Sample 92, at 25 wpi and chain plied it to get a 3 ply, sport weight, 12 wpi yarn, 77 yards to 1.75 ounces.

the newest spin -- 4oz of Polwarth/silk from Three Waters Farm, in the colorway "Quiet Contrast"; I chain-plied this to try to keep the colors together, but I love the barber-pole effect! about 92yds of a DK-ish weight yarn

I continue to practice supported spindling. I really an finding preparation of fiber makes a huge difference. I am having a much easier time with rollags and punis than I was with straight combed top or roving for this style spinning. Who knows, long draw may be on the horizon! #handspinning 🧶
