JUNE은 “우리가 함께 살아갈 수 있을까?”라는 물음에서 시작해, “파랑이 우리를 물들이더라도, 삶은 계속된다”라는 메시지까지 이어지는 감정의 변화를 곡마다 나누어 배치했다. 트리플 타이틀 구조도 눈에 띈다. 메인 타이틀곡 ‘ROLLER COASTER (롤러코스터)’를 중심으로 ‘HEY! (헤이!)’, ‘WHY DO YOU LOVE ME (와이 두 유 러브 미)’까지 세 곡이 타이틀 라인을 형성하며, 앨범명과 같은 ‘MY BLUE’, ‘BOY (보이)’, ‘NOTHING WITHOUT YOU (낫띵 위드아웃 유)’, ‘LACK (랙)’, ‘COMING HOME (커밍 홈)’이 이를 채우는 방식이다. 선공개 곡으로 먼저 공개된 ‘WHY DO YOU LOVE ME’와 ‘NOTHING WITHOUT YOU’는 EP의 정서를 미리 드러내는 역할을 했다. 두 곡은 서정적인 분위기와 메시지를 앞세워 리스너들의 공감을 불러일으키고 있으며, 앨범 전체가 다루는 우울과 사랑의 결을 미리 짚어주는 지점에 놓였다. 각 곡이 다루는 감정의 방향도 세분화돼 있다. BIG Naughty(빅나티, 서동현)의 ‘정이라고 하자 (Feat. 10CM)’ 공동 작곡에 참여했고, 음악 프로젝트 ‘Seasons of Love (시즌스 오브 러브)’의 총괄 프로듀서를 맡아 엑소 수호, 10CM(십센치), B.I(비아이) 등과 협업 작업을 진행해온 바 있다. 이처럼 여러 아티스트와의 작업을 통해 쌓아온 경험은 이번 ‘MY BLUE’에서 자작곡 8곡으로 집약됐다. 기존 협업 중심 이력에서 한 발 더 나아가, 자신의 이름을 건 첫 EP로 음악적 지점을 스스로 정리하는 흐름이다. JUNE의 첫 EP ‘MY BLUE’는 14일 오후 6시부터 각종 온라인 음원 사이트에서 들을 수 있다.
