Digital painting of a merfolk-monster mutant called "Siren of the Chasm". The merman is mostly humanoid; with human legs and barely any aquatic features, but on the nape of his neck is a fleshy appendage, that tethers him to the spine of a giant, mutated anglerfish, as if he's the lure and bait instead of a faintly glowing appendage. It is ivory white and spiky rocks spread across its jaw, belly and back-side, as if they're barnacles attaching to it. The fish is practically an extended jaw. The merfolk is floating above the large and open jaws of the anglerfish.
I've already posted this fella for #MerMay, but he's also a part of my #KaiJune series so I redesigned him a bit! He's definitely a boss type character~
