A photograph principally of an inflated or rubber life saving ring hanging or fixed to the trunk of a tree on a river bank. The foreground features the branches of a straggling bush with leaves the same orange as the ring, others dark red, yellow or green. Ivy adorns an adjacent trunk and bright red hips are also popping in colour against the milky brown of the swollen river. It’s a dull day inspite of which the assorted colours are like candy in those tubs (once tins) that contain assorted chocolates popular in the UK in December. ✨

There are numerous alternatives to #AlcoholicsAnonymous that don't impose religion on participants. Programs like @smartrecoveryusa.bsky.social, #LifeRing, and #SOS provide the same community support and mutual accountability as #12step programs without the religious coercion. (2/8)
