"How many pieces of me, do you think, are slowly becoming pieces of you?" The dreams, he realised with a sinking, twisting feeling in his stomach. The thought discomforted him enough to whirl from his desk, already striding half-way across the chamber before he'd registered it. "Enough of this," he snapped. "I will never be like you."

"Well," Roathe breathed, slowly turning back towards him, tonguing at the corner of his mouth with an infuriatingly pleased smirk. "Maybe there's still hope for you yet, master."
