Better data are needed on internal #LostLearning and pupil voice but this is part of the journey to: all school moves equally accountable.

EPI’s report on SEN identification last month found that children diagnosed with emotional disorders were less likely to receive SEND support to prevent #LostLearning in school than others with different diagnoses.

EPI recommended reforming school admissions to reduce the segregation of disadvantaged children into certain schools, similar to the #LostLearning solution of making the least representative schools accountable for their lack of inclusion.

There’s so much that resonates with EPI’s research. Our report yesterday on breaking down the gap highlighted the importance of absence as a mediator of #LostLearning for disadvantaged children with SEND, mental health difficulties, difficult home lives, etc.
