View of a timber Queenslander house being carried on a punt, pushed by a motorboat in the Brisbane River from Bulimba to Bishop Island, dated 1934. The house was originally built for Jim Crouch, with timber supplied by Bob Dath. It was moved back to McConnell Street in Bulimba from Bishop Island 5 years later. Bishop Island used to exist at the mouth of the Brisbane River, created from river dredge between 1909 to 1912. It was eventually subsumed into the Port of Brisbane in the 1990's as a part of an expansion of the port. The image is from the State Library of Queensland.
