Have a #MapMonday bonus, this is my most recent creation, based off of @birmo.bsky.social's AXIS OF TIME: RELOADED SERIES, where a fleet of modern warships from 2021 get sent back in time to 1942, inadvertently triggering WWIII in 1954.
Happy #mapmonday #ttrpgcommunity!

Colour map of Carrickfergus in a birdseye view showing castle, market cross, tower houses, beehive huts and the Franciscan friary with boats in the port
Carrickfergus has a significant set of 16th and 17th century maps, including one of the earliest urban maps on the island of Ireland: ‘Kragfargus’. It is unsigned and undated, but it was before the friary was fortified in 1566 and the details in the castle gives it a date of c. 1560

Map of the source of Greasby Brook adjacent to three pits known as the Greets Pits.
@aroundthehills The 1849 tithe map shows common ownership between 1+ of the pits and Irby Hall (NB actual moat though only 2 sides). Known as Greets Pits. Archaic "Greet" means weeping, perhaps as in spring?
Yellowed map titled "A Calculation of the Great Eclipse of the Sun," April 22, 1715 in the Morning, from Mr. Flamsteed's Tables, as corrected according to Sir Isaac Newton's Theory of the Moon in Astronomical Lectures, with its Construction for London, Rome, and Stockholme by W Whifton.
Did you know the Great Eclipse of 1715 was calculated using Newton’s lunar theory? The Clark Library has this map by William Whiston that charted its path across London, Rome, and Stockholm. #MapMonday. https://myumi.ch/z98k4
