"reported according to PRISMA", a protocol on OSF, a PRESS peer review of the search, more than just "we used Web of Science" but an actual description of the included collections... a beautiful example of what can happen when you include a #medlib as a co-author!!

Sad to see they clearly did not consult a #medlib for this study. Most telling is the sentence "Taken collectively [...] suggests that Google Scholar cannot be used as a sole resource for systematic reviews [...]." Ah, so you mean like any sysrev guideline already tells you?

A a health literacy focused #medlib, the news about MedlinePlus AND outreach is devastating.
BUT the mention of cuts to NCBI within that 40% reduction should chill everyone who does biomedical research. They maintain PubMed as well as Entrez, gene, protein, nucleotide, BLAST, PubChem...
