Powerful search made simple
We redesigned Advanced Search into an intuitive query builder, making complex searches easier.
You can even see how each line of the query affects the number of search results. So you can spot errors quickly and adjust your approach when needed.

"reported according to PRISMA", a protocol on OSF, a PRESS peer review of the search, more than just "we used Web of Science" but an actual description of the included collections... a beautiful example of what can happen when you include a #medlib as a co-author!!

LOL, gotta love it when the person on the other end posts a bunch of words & expects Magic Computer (us) to immediately grasp the context & the desired result.

I let them know I’m no LLM 😆.

Takes me back to being a #medlib, because Drs. would pull the same nonsense 35 years ago over the phone.

Same here; the health library orientation for the incoming class (including those at the new CB campus) would have been this Wednesday if I weren’t locked out. Continuing med students finishing summer research were left hanging waiting for my feedback when email cut off. #medlib #keepdalstrong

Don't worry, it gets worse! Someone on the dutch #medlib listserv had a similar problem when using wildcards - although when I tried taking a screenshot for bluesky suddenly it worked again.. but it still makes me a little wary

Sad to see they clearly did not consult a #medlib for this study. Most telling is the sentence "Taken collectively [...] suggests that Google Scholar cannot be used as a sole resource for systematic reviews [...]." Ah, so you mean like any sysrev guideline already tells you?

My favorite way of doing #medlib work: being funny AND being critical!

A a health literacy focused #medlib, the news about MedlinePlus AND outreach is devastating.

BUT the mention of cuts to NCBI within that 40% reduction should chill everyone who does biomedical research. They maintain PubMed as well as Entrez, gene, protein, nucleotide, BLAST, PubChem...

Want to stop AI training on your research?
Think a CC BY-NC-ND license will help?

Think again! @creativecommons.bsky.social says restrictive licenses don’t block AI training but do limit:

- rapid dissemination
- rigorous review
- equitable access

Why should I make my research open?🤷
@creativecommons.bsky.social says:

CC BY lets you keep copyright whilst your work can be:
• Translated into other languages
• Adapted for education
• Used on Wikipedia

Open research = greater reach and impact! 🌍✨
