This is kind of a tier thing for me. S Tier: Hamnet and Bugonia are two incredible films. I'd be thrilled for either to win Best Picture, but probably neither is. A Tier: Sinners, The Secret Agent, Train Dreams and Frankenstein are all worthwhile and substantive films that just didn't hit quite as hard as the S Tiers. B Tier: F1 and Marty Supreme are both bad movies that don't deserve to be here, and if you like either of those films a lot, you probably suck. F Tier: One Battle After Another is one of the worst things I've ever seen, and if you like that movie, you should look into counseling or art therapy or something. Like, seriously.

I think we can definitively say, especially with this year's crop, that 10 is too many #BestPicture nominations.

I fully hated #MartySupreme, #OneBattleAfterAnother & #F1, and don't think they were good #movies, besides.

AND #Superman still got left off 😑

Idk what it is, but it feels like a 'real' film right away.

Part of it might be Wagner Moura, whom I adore from his work on Narcos. I'm excited to see him cook here.

I immediately like something about the #TheSecretAgent a lot.

... it sure isn't its 161m runtime, but even in just the first minute, the vibes are right in this #film, especially amidst what's been a VERY hit-or-miss #OscarsHomework run.

There's also a lot of that thing where men lift up their finger to be like, 'shush, I'm doing important man things,' but here, he's literally just pissing, so he's telling Frankenstein, 'Not now, Victor! Now, we're listening to me piss,' and there's even a line in the script. So weird, lol.

"French porcelain. Chimes to a man's stream."

There's a lot more of Christoph Waltz pissing in this movie than I would have figured. The sound design is *real* upsetting, too

Actually, RoboCop (2014), a movie nobody knows exists and might be a figment of my imagination, went even further than Frankenstein (2025), what I may start calling Frankenstein50, bc it's the 50th adaptation (at least) that I've seen.

Very similar vibes, right? I'm not saying it's lifted wholesale, bc again, nobody in the entire world, including Guillermo Del Toro, remembers or knows that that reboot/remake attempt even was filmed, much less released wide, so it would be literally insane to suggest anyone might have stolen from it. But the similarities are striking, nonetheless.

It's also very Bodyworlds, and, boy, do I have a story about that... I'm not gonna tell it. I just do.
