A Red Tailed Hawk lands in the tree above my head. Looking for its next meal. Most Red-tailed Hawks are rich brown above and pale below, with a streaked belly and, on the wing underside, a dark bar between shoulder and wrist.
Cooper's hawk is a medium-sized hawk native to the North American continent and found from southern Canada to Mexico. Bluish gray upper parts with a contrasting black cap and red eyes. Looked out my window and there it was in all it's glory.

The view from my bed, looking out my window: snow covered lawn, with a magnolia tree whose leaves have been topped with snow, a leafless dogwood with snow covered branches. Up close, two birds- a bright red cardinal, and a song sparrow, eat bird seed from the window box.
I just gotta impress on y'all how cozy this is right now. I'm in my bed, under an electric blanket, hot mug of tea, enjoying a honey stick, watching the birds right outside my window- with a perfect view of the snow covered magnolia. Blissful.
