The Vice Wines Torie's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024, Los Carneros, California Purple/ reddish in color with medium plus intensity. Fruity nose of black currants, plums, cherries, oak, sweet candy, light vanilla and lots of chocolate notes. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with plums, currants, oak, chocolates, black pepper, light herbs and spices. Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This young Pinot Noir from Napa Valley is already drinking nicely. Rich, juicy and fruit forward. Elegant and nicely balanced. This Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Good right out of the bottle, and gets earthier as it opens up. It needs about an hour to open up properly, but we didn’t have that luxury as it finished way too quickly. Would be nice to revisit it in a few years. Easy drinking, and good by itself or with food. Paired very nicely with pizza. 100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged for 9 months in all new French Oak barrels. A small production of only 3,000 bottles. Unfiltered and unfined. 14.1% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $68.

Terragena Winery Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2023, Mendocino County, California Light red in color with light intensity. Light nose of strawberries, cranberry juice and light herbs. Light bodied with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with fresh cherries, strawberries, cranberries, bitter herbs, spices, light earth and black pepper. Tangy finish with soft tannins and tart cherries. This is an easy drinking Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley in California. Nicely balanced with mild complexity and a soft mouthfeel. Loved the low alcohol here. Good right out of the bottle, and gets earthier after 90 minutes of airtime. Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years. Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself or with food. A good porch wine and good for the pool too. 100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in French and Hungarian oak barrels. A small production of 650 cases. 11.5% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $49.

TeachWorth Winery Napa Valley Pinot Noir 2018, California Ruby in color with medium intensity. Fruity nose of red and blue fruits with light wood, chocolates, spices, licorice and herbs. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate and fruit forward with cooked cherries, plums, light oak, chocolates, licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee and herbs. Nice finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This 8 year old Pinot Noir from Napa Valley is drinking at the end of its peak. Complex and engaging. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. Rich and fruit forward. Fully resolved now, and would not get any better from this point. The alcohol is well integrated by now. Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine. Pinot Noir grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 11 months. 14.75% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $60 (at release).

This young Single Vineyard Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills in California is starting to drink very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Nicely balanced and complex. Fruit forward and elegant. Soft and smooth. Tangy and engaging. This Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is showing such an interesting nose for a Pinot Noir. Domaine Serene Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir 2011, Willamette Valley, Oregon #AgedWineTuesday Reddish in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity. Pretty color. Strong nose of red fruits with earth, light wood, light Mediterranean spices, mushrooms, earth and herbs. Light to medium in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, spices, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light green tea and earth. Nice finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries. This is a delicious 15 year old Pinot Noir from Oregon. Nicely balanced and elegant. Feels like a red Burgundy, which I loved. Complex and interesting. Tangy and spicy. I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent. Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to do so in the next 10 years. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points. Easy drinking, and good by itself or with food. Pinot Noir grapes were aged in (55% new) French oak barrels for 15 months. 13.1% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $145.

Holocene Wines Memorialis Pinot Noir 2023, Yamhill-Carlton, Oregon Purple in color with medium intensity. Fruity nose of red and blue fruits with spices, herbs, earth, light oak, chocolates and light barnyard. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with blueberries, currants, strawberries, bing cherries, chocolates, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs, spices, black tea and peppercorn. Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries. This young Pinot Noir from Yamhill-Carlton in Oregon is already starting to drink beautifully. Needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already delicious. Fruit forward and spicy. Smooth with good structure. Nicely balanced with a tangy finish. Already showing nice complexity. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolved. Good right out of the bottle, and much better after 45 minutes of airtime. Typical #Chambolle Village with cherry, raspberry, strawberry notes. Very much #Pinot with violets and earth tones. Good acidity. Not much in the way of structure or length. A bit simple. I guess $100 doesn’t go far for #Burgundy #wine

Not overly impressed by these two from Bichot. #Chablis was a bit reductive and lacked depth and concentration for a 1er cru. #VosneRomanée had bright cherry fruit but lacked in mid palate and length. Disappointing for a 2005. #Burgundy #Chardonnay #Pinot

Lovely @Ch_Philipponnat 2008 Blanc de Noirs #Champagne Brut. Perfect expression of #Pinot Lemony, citrus with white stone fruit. Nice toastiness on nose and finish. Drinking beautifully now but can still keep. #wine

Benza Vineyards Three Tuxedos Reserve Pinot Noir 2022, Willamette Valley, Oregon Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Fruity nose of red cherries, black currants, blueberries, wild flowers, light wood, chocolates, spices and black pepper. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with black currants, cherries, light wood, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn and licorice. Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a delicious Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley in oregon. Nicely balanced, juicy and complex. Elegant and fruit forward. Still young, but already drinking nicely, even by itself. Very fruity right out of the bottle, and gets earthier as it opens up. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Paired nicely with the Italian salami. 100% Pinot Noir grapes were destemmed and aged in (45% new) French oak barrels for 16 months. 13.6% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $70.
