Title: My Little Hyena
Poem:
I see your red light
Stop sign
Painting danger everywhere
Especially in failing
Falling
Where I care to stand
You are my little hyena
Always scaring away the stranger
Always more afraid
Than they know
Your spots lie
You are my pet
A feral thing
I never could control
Now I look for peace
A gentle embrace
Realize I must look
Inward
Let go
See green
A deep emerald sea
Release my hyena
Let it wander back
On the steps of real danger
