Going to church on #stunday: The Bergkerk (church on the hill) in Deventer, the Netherlands. A late 12th c. Romanesque church with Gothic elements dating from the 15th c.
It hasn´t been in use as a church since 1967 and is now a place for concerts and art exhibitions.

15th march : au niveau / at the level of ... the sky
After today’s picture, there will be a short poem l have write for this shot. Our photograph is a close-up view of a metal sundial, captured from a low angle so the central piece rises prominently from the surface. The sundial is made of weathered brass or bronze, its surface textured with age, faint scratches, and patches of darker patina that suggest many years outdoors. At the center stands the gnomon, the triangular metal piece that casts the shadow telling the time. It leans upward at a steep angle, forming a slender triangle. Near its base is a round circular opening, like a small ring cut through the metal, which adds a delicate architectural detail to the otherwise solid structure. The edges of the gnomon catch warm golden light, making them glow against the cooler tones around it. The sundial’s circular base plate is engraved with fine lines and markings that radiate outward like spokes of a wheel. These etched lines indicate the hours, forming a pattern that spreads across the metal surface. Toward the lower edge of the dial, there are raised symbols and lettering, including a small emblem resembling a three-loop knot. The metal surface reflects subtle highlights, while tiny droplets or marks of moisture glisten in the grooves. The background is softly blurred, colored in cool blues and muted greys. Shapes of what appear to be a bench and a stone wall sit out of focus. The overall feeling is contemplative: a quiet instrument designed to measure the passing of daylight, standing still while time moves around it. Finally, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame, and now for my poem. I call it…Time and Hope The sun moves slowly, yet the dial stands still, a patient witness to the turning of the day. Shadows stretch and fade, hours slipping like water, but every new morning returns with light. So time may wander beyond our grasp, yet hope, like the sun always finds its way back.

Built in 1874 by the London & South Western Railway for its London to Plymouth service, now sadly closed to trains, it's one of only two surviving railway bridges in the United Kingdom that use wrought iron lattice piers to support wrought iron trusses. This section of the railway, once the route of the prestigious Atlantic Coast Express, is known as 'The Withered Arm'. It now forms part of the Granite Way - a cyclepath that circumnavigates round the north of the moor.
