The most important thing your characters can do to a wound is place DIRECT PRESSURE. For a large arm/leg wound, a tourniquet can be lifesaving.
Dont just throw rags on it. You need to STOP the bleed, not just MOP it.

Healthy reminder: it’s entirely possible to make original films. Everything doesn’t have to be a remake. Arguably you cannot better *some* original films. There are plenty of screenwriters out there writing cracking original material.
