The Unsolved Murder of John Horvath On January 4, 1999, John's neighbors grew suspicious when he had not shoveled his driveway after a large snow storm. Later, they saw that his backdoor had been forced open. Inside, they found John Horvath's body. He was at the bottom of the basement stairs in a pool of blood. He had been beaten to death inside his Norway Avenue home. John was 75 years old when he was murdered. He was a retired teacher and lived alone. Police say that he suffered from blunt force trauma to his head and it appeared that he interrupted a burglary in progress.
